"Our Little Lucky Charm" Turns Three

Sometimes it's hard to remember just how hard it was to get Ashlynn here, but every year on St. Patrick's Day(her birthday), I am reminded just how "Lucky" we are to have her. This year Ashlynn turned three & we had a Little Mermaid Birthday Party to Celebrate at her request. Thanks to all who helped make it such a special day- you know who you are & what you did:) The kids had a blast making their own Crab Party Hats, Fishing with Flounder, and playing "Pin the Tail fin on Ariel". We all enjoyed a Sea themed lunch with Grammi's wonderful clam chowder and tuna sandwiches. To top it all off, I made (OK...with a little help from my Mother) a giant Mermaid cake. It was a lot of fun, and I can honestly say that all the hard work was worth it just to see her excitement. Check out the cool pics from the Party posted in the slide show below.

Life Happens - Fast

Since our last posting, we had every intention of keeping our New Years Resolution by posting at least once a month, but amid house selling, birthday party planning, crazy stuff at work, and plain old life in general, you wake up and March is almost over. Oops! Time sure does fly by, but I really don't remember having much fun. I think I need to work on that.
Here are a few things that have been going on with us. As you all know, we are selling our house so that Quinn can go back to school, and it has been on the market since October. Can I just tell you how hard it is to live in a constant state of perfection (Clean house & ready for a showing at a moments notice). We all know that it's not really a stretch for me, but to get Ashlynn & Quinn on board is a whole different ballgame:) -Just kidding! We are really seeing a lot of activity on our house right now, so wish us luck that we get a bite & soon. Quinn's work has been hit hard by the economic situation, but not wanting to let anyone go, they cut everyone who was full-time to a 32 hour week. Despite the 20% pay cut, we are extremely grateful that he still has a job considering the state of the economy right now. Looking at the bright side........we are now working on living on a budget, pinching a penny, stretching a dollar, paying down debt & putting a little something away for a rainy day. It's not perfect, but we are working on it & it's better late than never.
